This collection, Venus as a Boy, is about reimagination. We take our name for the collection from the Bjork song of the same title, which in of itself points towards a reimagination of the idea of Venus, where Venus herself was a Roman reimagination of Aphrodite.
Le Monde Diplomatique
Autumn-Winter 2022
AW22
Show
For the Autumn-Winter 2022 collection, Casablanca presents Le Monde Diplomatique, a celebration
of Parisian grandeur and the surreal, inspired by Creative Director Charaf Tajer’s birthplace.
This collection reimagines classic design codes through a dynamic lens, drawing on the hidden depths of Paris.
In this city, whispers of diplomacy once shaped an era of glitz and innovation.
The accompanying film, featuring actress Emma Mackey, explores iconic locations such as Le Bourget airport,
Le Train Bleu restaurant, and Maison Darre, highlighting the coexistence of classical and modern elements in Paris.
Signature silk pieces evoke the allure of a midnight flight, with aviation prints in France’s Tricolore,
deep satin-quilted outerwear, and intricate couture details like pearls, crystals,
and feather-work that nod to the elegance of the golden age of travel.
